Photo Diary: 24 Hours in Venice

Sometimes, you just need to take a break. As much as I love my life in France, I’m the type of person that needs a change in perspective every couple of weeks or so.

Also, ever since the start of the new year, I’ve been slightly disappointed in myself. My only trip out of Paris had been London in October! There was still so much left to see!

So I started planning, and planning, and dreaming big, as I do. After a couple days of obsessively checking budget airline sites, I eventually found a $22 round trip ticket to Venice. It took some trials and tribulations, but I powered through, and found myself with a weekend in a city that has captured my imagination since elementary school.

Anyway, without further ado, here are some of the best photos I took while in Venice! [It’s mostly bridges and boats, my two favourite things beginning with ‘b’ that aren’t booty or bears.]

Room with a view: looking out of the window of my AirBnb

They look cute now, but they’re actually hellbeasts.

San Marco’s! There’s so much history here and it’s really cool but I’ll have to get into that later.

The Bridge of Sighs, taken from the best possible angle I could while being jostled by Korean tourists.

If you look closely, you’ll see one of the many seemingly random patches of snow scattering Venice in January [it’s on the boat]

I got yelled at 2.5 seconds after taking this because I wasn’t supposed to walk in this part apparently.

Listen… I needed to sit for just a little while, okay??

Majestic. Also, terrifying. I think Venice may have given me some kind of bird phobia??

Thanks for taking a look, and don’t forget to subscribe!
