I’m Dreamin’ Of: San Francisco

Well, I’m off to San Francisco in less than 12 hours. [I’m probably already halfway there by the time this post is released to the world.]

If you’re also dreaming of a trip to the City by the Bay, here are a few fun things to spark your imagination.

Books:
Lola & The Boy Next Door Stephanie Perkins
Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore | Robin Sloan

Films:
Big Hero 6 [okay, so it’s technically not the same city, but it’s fun looking for the key characteristics of the original San Francisco within the setting]
The Princess Diaries. Classic.

The new San Andreas film probably won’t make you want to visit, but…

Posts:
My posts so far on the city.

Television:
Sense8 features some amazing shots of the city [as well as many others, and it’s a visually appealing and thrilling sci-fi series]
Monk is a quirky detective series that’s a bit older, but San Francisco serves as its beautiful backdrop.

As always, if you have any suggestions, feel free to leave them in the comments! [It might take me a while to get to them, though – see you on the road!]

I just visited Treasure Island which was random and weird. I highly recommend visiting the sixteenth avenue mosaic staircase. It is free and easy and super cool. I will be posting about it Wednesday. Stay tuned! My favorite place in all of San Francisco is Golden Gate Park. Visit the Botanical gardens. They are a free and wonderful place to have a picnic. Get some take out from the Haight and take it over there and breath in the beauty and fresh sea air.
